Must Read Sanity Tip
by Michelle Biton
As
fabulous as pregnancy is, there's nothing like a team of raging hormones
and a tipping scale to wipe out that glow.
And it's
not just the physical or emotional changes that can send you for a loop
- how about the lifestyle changes (family dynamics, finances etc.) that
come along with it too?
With all
that going on, it's no big shocker that I get so many emails from
depressed, worried and anxious moms-to-be.
And
here's what I have to say on the matter:
FIRSTLY, stop and take a deep breath because you're totally
normal! (Of course if you feel your mood swings are getting out of
control, talk to your doctor.)
And
SECONDLY, I am about to share with you a little gem I've
discovered for keeping your worries and anxiety at bay.
Working as
a personal coach for the past 10 years, I've noticed how much my clients
were affected by their FIRST THOUGHTS of the day - and
what a difference a small shift in those thoughts could make!
Sound too
simple? Well, think back to what your thoughts were as you got up this
morning. Did you think:
"I'm tired
and I don't feel like getting up."
"My back aches and I don't want to go to work."
OR
did you think...
"What a
perfect day to get up and do some exercise."
"What a great morning - I feel ready to start my day."
Of course
the first set of questions WILL set you up for a not-so-great-day;
whereas the second set of questions will set you up for a great one.
Now, I'm
not saying you have to be Mary Poppins (obviously not!). What I AM
saying is be aware of the difference the slightest change in HOW YOU
APPROACH your day can make.
Try it!
You've got nothing to lose. Tomorrow morning when you wake up, think
POSITIVELY about your day, your body, your life, and your baby!
And while
you're at it, make sure to get out as much as possible. Expanding your
lungs and getting FRESH air will also REALLY HELP you feel much better!
