Specific Training

Each aspect of the condition can be improved by specific training and if you are aware of this, it is easier to reach your goal of getting fit or losing weight.

If you want to improve your aerobic condition you need to do aerobic exercises and if you want to get stronger, you need to do strength training. Your body will adapt to that kind of training.

Although strenght and endurance of the muscles will increase, when you train 3 times a week with weights, it won't have much effect on the endurance of the heart and veins. There is no direct relation. If you want to train for a sport or event, you need to train for the sport or event specifically. If you want to improve your backhand with tennis, you need to train the backhand technique. If you want to train for the marathon, you need to do a lot of long-distance running. But if you want to improve the aerobic condition to not get so much out of breath on the tennis court, you should do crosstraining.
