Fitness History
I was not involved in organized athletics growing up. I gained the
"freshman 15" in college, and even though I lost it my senior year, I
was not fit. A Friend and I went to take a class at The FIRM in 1982 and really
stuck out in our sweat suits and dirty tennis shoes in a room of fit,
leotard-clad women. We left an hour later exhausted, red-faced and sweaty. My
friend never went back. And I never quit.
Nutritional Secrets
I eat salads every day. I load them up with vegetables, rice, beans and
chicken or tun for protein. I choose my favorite light or regular dressing adn
dilute them with water, they still taste so much better than the fat-free ones
and are much more satisfying. I drink water constantly to stay hydrated. I never
drink carbonated drinks as they bloat you and don't quench your thirst.
Secrets For Beginners
We all started out the same way; most of us weren't always as fit nor did we
look the way we do. I tell beginners to set small goals for themselves; first,
just try to get through the whole workout.
Favorite FIRM Exercise for Best Results
Leg press on the FIRM Fanny Lifter is my favorite exercise. We call it the
"Fanny Lifter" for a good reason. I can tell wich FIRM clients come on
a regular basis since their fannies are round and shapely, not flat and
spread-out.
